The Charger will be appearing on the Discovery Channel soon in a program called Ultimate Cars. This production by Ideal World Productions will feature interviews with the car owner, as well as footage of the car racing against a Ford Capri RS3100. You will need to watch it to see the outcome. Just remember that the Capri is roughly half the weight of the charger......

This is our 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible 390.
Finished in Blue Metallic with White hood and a Blue Leather interior
It is a very rare and unmolested example.
1969 saw a change to the Cougar range in that they gained a little extra length & width. This was also the first year that Mercury introduced a Convertible version of the Cougar.
Whilst it was always marketed as an upmarket version of the Mustang that it shared some of it's running gear with, it is often overshadowed by the popularity of the Mustang even in America.
Cougars in England are few and far between, this is the only known Cougar Convertible fitted with the rare 390 Big Block option in England.
The options list available on the Cougar range was vast and our example is no stranger to an enviable specification even by today's standards:
Power roof, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes (Vented), 320 BHP 6.5Ltr engine, Air Conditioning, Tilt adjustable steering column, Tilt away column (when the door opens), Leather Seats and more.
Standard Cougar items such as Hideaway headlamps and Sequential turn signals attract attention where ever the car is taken.
Though it has been repainted in the past it shows no sign of being welded since it's build in 1968 (It's also an early production model).

It was imported from California in 2003, where it had spent it's life. Most of which would seem to have been with the roof down so the Leather had dried & split and the carpet faded. We have had the seats retrimmed in Blue leather and the carpet replaced with a new item.
